One day, I decided to watch Planet 51

We have been trying to expand our child's movie collection, since our son is now 16 months old, he has become really interested in the TV. I also watch a 2 and 7 year old who need to be entertained too. While we were at Walmart the other day we found Planet 51, it must have been its first day of release because it was super cheap, i think we payed about 16 dollars for the movie. We sat down with our company to watch this movie yesterday, our son was sleeping, but we did have a 2 yr old a 7 year old, and 4 adults watching this movie, it was really great to watch their reactions.
An American astronaut (Chuck Baker voiced by Dwayne Johnson "The Rock") lands on this planet that he thinks is uninhabited, thanks to "rover" who sent pictures of nothing but rocks (Alien rain). He sets foot on the planet only to realize that it is inhabited by aliens!!!! The aliens have only evolved to the American 1950's, so they are quite fearful of anything new. And the hottest thing going on there at the time is the movie "Humaniacs" which is about human invasion.
I found the movie hilarious! As did the other 3 adults. The 2 year old just laughed when we did and basically fell in and out of sleep, and the 7 year old was just old enough to get a lot of the jokes. I do have to say that this movie should be rated "PG", as it is in the United States, but here in Canada it is rated "G". There is a lot of sexual innuendo, but really not much more then a Disney movie, but it could shock some parents. All in all I did enjoy it quite a bit and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh.

Planet 51
Released on DVD March 9,2010.
Rated G (Canada) PG (USA)

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy

My son recieved this awesome toy for Christmas called the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy. It has button through its body that, when pushed they sing, and play games and/or name parts of the body. It helps to teach your child expression, body parts and helps connect word to images. My son really loves this toy, he presses the heart and watches it light up and even said "heart" a few times.
He is currently 13 months old. I would definatly recommend this toy to a child between 9- 36 months of age.
